Terms & Conditions

Fees are set at the given hourly rate as agreed, prior to commencing lessons.

Any increases to fees will be provided in writing; with a notice period.

Fees are payable in advance of the lesson via bank transfer.

If you are only able to pay in cash, please ensure this is discussed ahead of starting lessons and arrangements can be made.

Block bookings will attract discounts and will be agreed prior to commencing.

In the event of the learner needing to cancel a lesson, 48 hours notice is required, if at all possible.

When situations arise, beyond your control and it is not possible to provide the required 48 hours notice, the teacher will endeavour to arrange an alternative lesson within the same week. If this is not possible, 50% of the total class fee is payable. However, every effort will be made to accommodate and reschedule by the teacher to avoid loss of learning.

Should the learner wish to re-schedule a lesson, 48 hours notice is required. Whilst being flexible is always intended, it may not always be possible.

In the unlikely event of the teacher needing to cancel a single lesson this will be rescheduled, as soon as possible, to suit all parties.

Should the teacher be unavailable for an extended period (i.e. more than a single session) a replacement teacher will be employed to cover lessons.

Should the learner not wish to continue with a replacement teacher, arrangements can be made to postpone learning to suit all parties.

If you/your child no longer wish to continue with Lamda lessons, a notice period of 2 weeks is required. Failure to provide this notice period would mean that two weeks of fees become payable.

Lamda exams are Ofqual recognised qualifications and carry guided learning hours to complete. Therefore, no student will be entered for the exam unless the teacher is confident and certain they are at the required standard set by the Lamda syllabus.

Exam fees are set by Lamda and are payable to the Lamda Teacher in advance of the exam date being requested & secured.

All the required Lamda paperwork for exam dates will be completed and sent by the Lamda Teacher.

Exam dates can be subject to change by Lamda and this is not within the Teachers control.

Whilst preferred dates are always sought, it is not always possible to secure a particular date & time with Lamda head office.

Should the learner make payment for their Lamda examination and be unable to attend, Lamda do not refund examination fees and a rescheduled examination fee will be charged.

Teachers do not attend public examination centres and therefore, minors will need to be accompanied by an adult. Although the accompanying adult will be asked to remain outside the examination room itself.

The teacher is self employed and is in no way responsible for Lamda examination prices, regulations or decisions.

Families are asked to support the learning that is required to bridge the gap between teacher led sessions.

Any homework set, line learning, reading or research is part of the Lamda ‘guided learning hours’ and is an essential part of the students progress. Therefore, it is important that support and encouragement is provided to work towards a successful exam result.

Verbal feedback following lessons can cause delays to the next scheduled lesson. Therefore, aside from a brief update, feedback can be obtain via email and will be responded to within 2 working days.

Lamda is a commitment and missed lessons interrupt progress. Please ensure your child has the time & enthusiasm to commit to weekly sessions to ensure the best possible exam result.

Weekly Lamda sessions can continue within School holidays, if you wish to but the time and availability of the Lamda Teacher is subject to change. Therefore, evening sessions would usually be required to take place during the day.

Photographs/videos are often taken for the purposes of Lamda marketing or for the promotion of the teachers website. Please inform the teacher if you do NOT wish your child to participate.
